Pizza delivery driver tackles teenage robbery, carjacking suspects

PITTSBURGH — A pizza delivery driver who was beaten, carjacked and robbed in Northview Heights earlier this week helped police nab the people involved, police said.

Jon Madumarov shot dramatic cellphone video as he helped police chase down the same suspects who allegedly stole his car earlier this week.

The incident started Tuesday night, when Madumarov, who's from Uzbekistan and speaks little English, was delivering pizzas.

Several guys with guns jumped him from behind, police said.

The next day, Madumarov was searching for his car when he spotted police chasing his vehicle.

He shot the video as he used another car to block the suspects' path at the intersection of Spring Garden Avenue and Arcola Way.

After they hit the car, the suspects tried to run off, police said.  Madumarov chased them down just as police moved in, police said.

Madumarov lost some money and his passport.

The two suspects are 15 years old but will be charged as adults.

Police are still looking for a third suspect.
