Police arrest man in motel parking lot after woman was threatened with gun

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police arrested a man in the parking lot of a motel in Robinson Township early Monday.

A Channel 11 News photographer captured video of the arrest, as police pulled the suspect out of a car in the parking lot of the Pittsburgh Motel on Steubenville Pike shortly after 2 a.m.

Channel 11’s Steven Fisher reported the incident began with an argument about money between a man and a woman at the motel. When the man pulled a gun on the woman, she called police and he drove away.

Officers where in contact with the suspect over the phone throughout the night. They were able to convince him to return to the motel before making the arrest.

Robinson Township police told Channel 11 they warned the suspect that he would be pulled from the car and taken to the ground. They told him to unload his gun and place it on the front seat before he arrived at the motel.

The man’s name has not been released. Police said he legally owns the gun that was involved in the incident.
