Police investigate 2 shootings less than hour apart in Hill District

PITTSBURGH — Police are investigating two shootings in Pittsburgh's Hill District neighborhood that occurred less than an hour apart from one another.

A man was shot about 11:30 a.m. Sunday outside an apartment complex in the 2400 block of Chauncey Drive, police said.

Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said the man, 25, was shot in his upper torso. He was taken UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition.

No arrests have been made.

Investigators believe the shooter was among a group of three young men who approached the victim, Toler said. All three ran from the scene.

Less than an hour later, police responded to shots fired at a home on the 2100 block of Rose Street.

No one was injured in this incident.

"We believe that we have some video and we are waiting to review that and hopefully that'll give us more information as to who the people were who shot our victim," Toler said .

No arrests have been made.

The Group Violence Intervention Unit is investigating.
