Police investigating after man found on sidewalk with injuries to his head, face

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — A man is recovering at home after waking up at McKeesport Hospital with hardly any memory of how he ended up there with a fractured skull and jaw.

Walter Forsythe said he left Pazzo Italian Grill and Bar in McKeesport Sunday night with two people who he didn’t know prior to entering the bar.

“All I remember is being at the bar, having a drink. (A) guy bought us a drink, and I was leaving and supposedly I walked out with him and some girl,” he said.

Forsythe said they all started walking together, but at some point, everything went black. He said eventually someone saw him lying on the ground near McKeesport Hospital and called for help.

“I don’t know how long I was laying there,” he said.

Forsythe said he woke up in the hospital with lots of cuts and bruises and not completely sure where he was.

He said he's in pain but is hopeful that police will figure out what happened. Police confirmed they are looking into the incident and checking surveillance cameras nearby to see if anything was caught on camera.

Forsythe also shared a message for the Good Samaritan who found him and got him help.

“I would like to see whoever stopped, who helped me out, thank them in all that,” he said.
