Police officer in Fayette County charged in apparent domestic dispute

FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. — A Fayette County municipal police officer was arrested early Monday in an apparent domestic dispute.

State police responded to a Redstone Township home at about 4:15 a.m. and arrested Norman Howard, 42, and Amanda Orris, 25.

Police said Howard sustained scratches to his neck and Orris had a broken front tooth and a bite mark on her shoulder.

Howard is a police officer in Redstone. He did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.

Both are charged with simple assault and harassment. They were arraigned by District Judge Michael Metros and released on $5,000 unsecured bond.
