Police release photos of attempted robbery at convenience store in Mount Washington

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh police have released photos from a surveillance video of a man who tried to rob a convenience store in Mount Washington on Oct. 23.

Investigators said the man walked in to a CoGo’s on Virginia Avenue and demanded that the clerk open the register.

According to authorities, the clerk did not comply and even slapped the gun away from the would-be robber. The clerk eventually chased the man out of the store.
