BUTLER, Pa. - Channel 11 has learned state police have been investigating alleged sexual misconduct inside a Butler day care since Dec. 2011.
Police charged Roger Young, 64, last week. His wife runs Patticake Child Care Center out of their home.
Channel 11’s Amy Marcinkiewicz knocked on the couple’s home Thursday but no one came to the door.
Police said assaults were caught on camera and that they happened downstairs in the day care.
Police said the owner was not cooperative, and it took them a long time to seize the camera footage.
The Department of Public Welfare said Patticake has been licensed since 2009 and is in full compliance.
The department released this statement:
“Our staff has been working cooperatively with authorities by securing a safety plan that prohibits Mr. Young from being in the group child care home until the outcome of the criminal charges. We have been doing unannounced visits at the facility on a monthly basis to confirm Mr. Young's absence.”
