Police searching for 2nd vehicle that may have been involved in fatal Rt. 51 crash

JEFFERSON HILLS, Pa. — Investigators want to find a second car that may have played a role in a fatal accident in Jefferson Hills earlier this week.

According to Allegheny County police, multiple witnesses said that a small gray or dark-colored sedan was in close proximity to the car that crashed in the northbound lanes of Route 51 Monday morning.

The medical examiner identified the victims as Eric Hussey, 19, of Elizabeth, and Justin Busko, 30, of Pleasant Hills.

Police said the victims’ car was speeding when the driver lost control. It struck a curb and then hit a Jersey barrier before landing on its roof near the Ridge Road exit ramp. Both victims were ejected.%

Hussey’s brother-in-law, Shawn Brody, said Hussey was supposed to drive his Jeep to work on Monday morning. The Jeep wouldn't start, so Hussey called his boss, Busko.

"His boss offered to give him a ride to work. They came and picked him up that morning, left for work and that was the last time (we saw him),” Brody said.

Investigators said Wednesday that they believe the second car may have been involved in a road rage incident with the car, which could have resulted in the crash, or possibly that it was trying to race the victims' car.

Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle or the incidents leading up to the crash to call Allegheny County police at 412-473-1300, or to reach out to them via social media. Anyone with tips can remain anonymous.
