Police seek 2 suspects in at least 46 car break-ins

Pittsburgh police have two suspects in connection with car break-ins on the North Side.

The crimes have been reported at places including Allegheny General Hospital, Anderson Street Garage, General Robinson Garage and Allegheny Square.

It was not clear how many car owners who parked in North Sides parking garages returned to find their windshields bashed in and belongings stolen. As of Friday, the number of victims hovered around 46.

The suspects -- - Eric DiFiore of Brookline and Larry Anderson of the North Side -- are not in police custody.

Police said they developed Anderson as a suspect when they looked at surveillance video inside the General Robinson Garage.

Anderson, police said, named DiFiore as his partner and went on to claim the pair had been targeting cars all over the city in in a few suburbs.

Stephanie Waite, senior public relations analyst for Allegheny Health Network issued the following statement:

"Allegheny Health Network is aware of multiple vehicle break-ins recently at a number of North Side garages where our employees park, and as a result, we have increased the number of security patrols at garages on the Allegheny General Hospital campus. Many employees park at off-campus garages, and the owners of those garages have been making parkers aware of the need for increased vigilance in keeping doors locked and valuables hidden."

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
