Dozens of fire crews and emergency medical services personnel responded to the scene. Traffic was detoured around the area of Liberty Avenue and 11th Street while crews investigated the unattended SUV.

Amtrak officials noticed the vehicle parked in front of the ticket office overnight, Lt. Dan Reed said.

Amtrak police called Pittsburgh police for assistance. A bomb squad was dispatched and crews broke the windows so they could investigate inside the SUV, which will be towed.

It was not clear who owns the vehicle and why the SUV was left outside the train station.
