The AA semi-final game was tied at 20-all after the first quarter. North Catholic took a four point second quarter lead, but then Beaver Falls went on a 12-0 run to end the first half with a 36-28 lead. North Catholic got right back in it with a 7-0 run in the third quarter, but foul trouble hurt the Trojans all night.
Henry Pwono had 20 points for North and Matt Long added 15. Beaver Falls was led by Todd Thomas who poured in 23 points while David Phillips hit all 8 of his free throws to add 16 for Beaver Falls.
"Beaver Falls has extremely athletic players and plays very aggressive," said Jason Lucia, Athletic Director at North Catholic.
North Catholic has a good squad coming back thanks to players like sophomore sensation Jessie Long, a tremendous 6th man for North all season long. Lucia's basketball program had a fabulous winter with both the men and women's teams putting together very strong campaigns.
Meanwhile, Beaver Falls is red hot, having won 13 in a row and 21 of it's last 22 games.
