PITTSBURGH —
In this day and age with texting, instant messaging, e-mail, and the old fashion phone call, it can be tough to shut out the outside world, but that’s exactly what Dixon plans to do to focus on the upcoming game.
“It’s a dream come true," Dixon said.
Dixon said he’ll talk to his fellow quarterbacks throughout the week as he prepares for Sunday's game but he said the guy he will probably talk to the most is safety Ryan Mundy, one of his closest friends on the team.
Byron Leftwich, who would have started at QB, talked about the knee injury he suffered in the team’s final preseason game last week.
“I can't get any slower,” Leftwich said.
He also said he has never suffered a knee injury of any kind, so he isn't entirely sure how long it will take him to return to the Steelers lineup. He said he hasn't ruled himself out of any of the games on the schedule, including Sunday’s.
