Haley 'excited' about working with Roethlisberger

LATROBE, Pa. —

There has been a lot of talk about the relationship between Steelers starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and new offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Earlier this spring, fans wanted to know, would the two be able to co-exist and work well together?  Bill Phillips got those answers on Tuesday at training camp.

"I'm really excited about working with Ben," Haley said.  "If you have a guy that is a proven winner, that knows how to move the football up and down the field and get everyone in place, that is huge asset."

Haley says after 17 years in the National Football League, he knows it's a quarterback-driven league, and he has no doubt that he is working with one of the best in football.

"Ben is in that group of top guys. You know he has proven it from day one in the NFL," Haley said.

Haley and Roethlisberger have a few more weeks to work out any problems in the Steelers new offense before they open preseason play in Philadelphia on Thursday, Aug. 9.
