PITTSBURGH —

The Pittsburgh Steelers have started their optional off-season workouts at their South Side practice facility, and the hot topic so far this spring is the design of the upcoming Super Bowl XLIII rings.

The Steelers are the first team to win six Super Bowls. Wide receiver Hines Ward told Channel 11 News that the rings will be extra special to commemorate the team's unique accomplishment of winning six titles.

The design of the rings has been kept top secret, and many players like Ward and James Farrior have had a big part of the design process.

Wide receiver Santonio Holmes, the Super Bowl MVP, told Channel 11 News that the he hasn't seen the design, but he's heard from other players that the rings will be big.

Perhaps cornerback Ike Taylor summed it up best when he told Channel 11 Sports anchor John Fedko that the 2009 Super Bowl rings will be "big" and "juicy."
