Steelers' Top Draft Pick Arrested In Ohio

Holmes Charged With Domestic Violence, Assault

 

COLUMBUS —

Channel 11 News learned police arrested Pittsburgh Steelers' No. 1 draft pick Santonio Holmes on a domestic violence charge in Columbus, Ohio.

He was arrested at a Franklin County apartment just after midnight Monday.

Police said Holmes, 22, faces one count of domestic violence and two counts of assault.

Channel 11's Rick Earle reported Holmes was released from jail Monday afternoon.

PREVIOUS ARRESTS: This is not the first time Holmes has been in trouble with the law.

He was arrested at a South Beach, Fla., hotel over Memorial Day weekend in for disorderly conduct after a scuffle with police.

Holmes gave up his final year of eligibility at Ohio State to enter the NFL draft.
