Students sickened after eating cookies at Butler Vo-Tech

BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Two Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School students were sickened and taken to the hospital after eating cookies, school officials said.

Kurt Speicher, executive director of the school, confirmed that two students were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for evaluation Monday after eating cookies brought in by another student.

Speicher said Butler Township police told school officials that there is no indication from test results that the cookies contained any illegal or prohibited substances.

The Butler Eagle reported the cookies resembled cookie dough or unformed no-bake cookies.

Police and school officials continue to investigate.
