Teen accused of vandalizing neighborhood with BB gun

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — Bekki Viau and her family have called McKeesport home for two years.

She told Channel 11 News that Ravine Street is usually quiet, and Monday night is the first time she ever remembers feeling scared in her home.

"He shot toward our porch where my sister was sitting, and it went right past her,” Viau said.

Viau said her sister was sitting outside just before 8 p.m. when she saw a teenage boy shooting something at houses and cars on the street and then fired at her. She said when her sister yelled at him, the boy took off and Viau called McKeesport police.

"My first instinct is maybe it wasn't a BB and it was a gun. I have little ones inside and my first instinct is to protect them,” Viau said.

Police did not respond to Channel 11 News’ questions Tuesday about where their investigation stands.

No significant damage was visible as a result of the boy’s BB pellets.

Viau said while she wants to see the teenager caught, she is also worried for the boy’s safety. She said the BB gun looked realistic.

"We've never had any problems on this street and then all of a sudden there's a 13-year-old walking around with a BB gun. I don't want him pointing it at the wrong person and end up getting shot,” Viau said.
