Thieves steal donation jar for cancer patients

Cranberry police said they hope grainy surveillance photos will help catch two men suspected of stealing donations from needy families and cancer patients.

The donation jar was stolen from the checkout counter of the 7-Eleven/BP on Route 19 on Nov. 29.

Two screenshots from surveillance cameras depict the two men police are looking for. Though they were wearing hats, they were not covering their faces.

Cranberry Township police said they’re hoping for more leads and are asking the public for help.

Police said the two men came into the store before the theft with their faces shown. They were in the store for more than 10 minutes when they tried to get money out of the ATM. They weren’t successful, so they left, circled the place, came back in and swiped the donation jar.

The pair escaped with less than $100. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
