1 shot, another struck with crowbar during neighbor dispute

INDIANA TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police said one person was shot after a neighbor dispute turned violent in Indiana Township.

Investigators responded to a call for a shooting at 7 a.m. on Berryhill Road. When officers arrived at the scene they found a 54-year-old man shot in the stomach.

Investigators said the victim was driving a white box truck when he encountered his neighbor who was also driving on the road. Police said the victim got out of his car and assaulted the neighbor with a crowbar, injuring him and damaging his vehicle.  During the assault the victim was shot by the neighbor, police said.

The victim and the neighbor have a history of arguing with one another, according to police.

Channel 11 has learned the shooting victim was taken to the hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

Police said the shooter remained on scene and was taken into custody by police.

The investigation is ongoing, but no charges will be filed at this time.
