15-year-old boy in critical condition after being shot in arm

MERCER COUNTY, Pa. — A 15-year-old boy is in critical but stable condition after being shot in the arm, officials said.

Police said Tristan Schaffer, 18, recklessly discharged a firearm inside a home on Anderson Road in Sandy Lake Township, Mercer County.

The boy was transported to Grove City Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, police said. He was transferred to Children's Hospital.

Schaffer is facing charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person in connection with the shooting, officials said.

He is in the Mercer County Jail awaiting arraignment.
