PITTSBURGH — Two people were shot and three others received minor injuries Saturday when gunfire broke out in Pittsburgh's Fineview neighborhood, a police spokeswoman said.
Police and paramedics were called to the 1700 block of Belleau Drive in Fineview at about 2:30 p.m.
When they arrived, police determined that two people had been shot while standing outside and three others had minor injuries sustained while attempting to escape the gunfire, Safety Department public information officer Sonya Toler said.
A female was shot in the hand and was transported to Allegheny General Hospital. She is in stable condition.

A male was shot in the hip and was also transported to Allegheny General Hospital. He is in serious condition.
Both victims are believed to be adults, Toler said.
The incident is being investigated by the Group Violence Intervention Unit.
