3-alarm fire tears through home in Allentown neighborhood

PITTSBURGH — Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a three-alarm fire in Pittsburgh's Allentown neighborhood.

Firefighters responded to a house fire on Millbridge Street around 10 p.m. Sunday night.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Channel 11 talked with a neighbor who was forced out of her place because of the fire.

The flames were so intense they destroyed the siding and blew out the windows of her home and damaged her neighbor’s roof, Antoinette Jones said.

“Right now, I’m cool, but last night, I didn’t know whether to cry, scream, holler. I just wanted to get in and see if I still had everything,”  Jones said.

A total of 11 people were displaced and got help from the American Red Cross.

A firefighter was taken to the hospital for a heat-related illness. He is in stable condition.

Arson detectives were also called out to investigated.
