3 arrested in connection to shooting that injured 3, including 4-year-old girl

Police said three people were shot, including a 4-year-old girl, in the Sheraden neighborhood Saturday afternoon.

The child was shot in the head, but she was alert and talking to medical personnel at Children's Hospital before undergoing surgery, said Public Safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler at a press conference outside police headquarters.

A 57-year-old woman was shot several times and taken to Allegheny General Hospital, and a 23-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to UPMC Presbyterian, Toler said.

All three are in stable condition, she said.

Pittsburgh officers responded to the 3:40 p.m. report of a shooting in the 3200 block of Huxley Street and spotted a blue minivan fleeing the area, she said. Officers pursued the vehicle into the North Side, where it struck a pole, causing the occupants to flee on foot.

Rico Green, 24, Diontae Hollinger, 17, and Tywan David, 20, have all been arrested and taken to Allegheny County Jail without incident, according to police.

All three are being charged with aggravated assault, attempted criminal homicide and conspiracy, according to court documents. Hollinger will be charged as an adult.

A gun was recovered at the scene, but Toler said it was unclear if it was the weapon used in the shooting.
