CONNOQUENESSING BOROUGH, Pa. — After six years of relying on bottled water and water buffaloes provided by churches and nonprofits, residents of a Butler County mobile home park will have safe drinking water.
The Woodlands Mobile Home Park in Connoquenessing Borough was given $5,000 on Monday to buy clean water.
“This is greatly appreciated and will go toward buying water for the residents here,” Rev. Lee Dreyer, of White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, said.
Residents claim their water has been unsafe to drink because of fracking in the area.

“We are tired of being abandoned by our government and the industry, and it's been up to us and citizens and the good people here who are contributing. It's 2017, and nobody should be without water,” Bridget Shields, of Friends of the Harmed, said.
The $5,000 check is expected to help provide about three months’ worth of clean drinking water.
“What's happening in the Woodlands is, frankly, our future in Pittsburgh and many other communities where we don't know what's happening with our water,” Erin Kramer, of One Pennsylvania, said.
