Police confirmed five people were injured in a vehicle accident in Westmoreland County Sunday.
The accident happened around 7 p.m. on the 2100 block of Mt. Pleasant Road.
According to police, an SUV was traveling on Mt. Pleasant Rd and collided with a car that was crossing over from Brinkerton Road to United Way.
According to police reports, the SUV ran a stop sign, which caused the collision.
Police said six people were involved in the accident, but five were injured. Four people were in the car, while two were in the SUV.
One was ejected from the car and another was trapped in the SUV.

Police said three of the injured people were flown to local hospitals. They were flown from the Westmoreland Fairgrounds, which is up the street from where the accident occurred.
The other three people involved were taken by ambulance to Westmoreland Hospital.
Pennsylvania State Police Greensburg conducted the investigation.
