Alleged kidnapping of woman being investigated in Allegheny County

FRANKLIN PARK, Pa. — Police are investigating after a woman was allegedly kidnapped Monday morning, the Allegheny County Police said.

It's unclear where the incident began, but police said the 31-year-old woman was with a 30-year-old man from Buffalo, New York.

Franklin Park police were called around 1:35 a.m. about the alleged abduction.

Four hours later, just before 7 a.m., police found the woman and man at a gas station in Ohio Township.

Police were seen in the parking lot of a Sheetz on Mt. Nebo Road. They spent hours stationed near a silver pickup truck, which had a trailer attached.

According to police, the woman never contacted police directly and it was her friends and family members who alerted them to the possible abduction.

The woman was not hurt and, according to police, everyone involved is cooperating with investigators.
