Burglars ransack house, take everything - even baby formula, police say

UNIONTOWN, Pa. — A Fayette County home was burglarized and ransacked, and everything from electronics to baby formula to money in piggy banks was stolen.

"We didn't feel safe. What if they came back?" said Kevin Lee, who lives in the Uniontown home with his girlfriend and their three children. "Boxes, purses thrown around, clothes dumped out, drawers gone through."

Lee told WPXI news reporter Melanie Marsalko they were only gone for a couple of hours.

There wasn't any damage when they walked through the door of their Millview Street home, but they quickly noticed televisions and gaming systems were missing from both floors of the house.

"Diapers thrown everywhere. They took the time to go through piggy banks and take out all the silver coins, but leave the pennies," Lee said.

The kids are younger than 8, with the youngest just 6 months old. There were also baby clothes stolen and even the baby's formula.

"To take baby formula? I mean, it's baby formula. Are you drinking it? I doubt it. You're not putting it in your cereal, so why you gotta take the formula?" Lee said. "Lock it up, because this is the last thing we ever expected to happen to us and it happened."

Uniontown police are investigating the burglary.
