Butler County woman admits to being on the run from FBI for 25 years

A woman originally from Butler County has admitted to being on the run from the FBI for the past 25 years.

Kimberley Kessler disappeared from Butler County years ago.

She’s charged with killing a Florida mother, Joleen Cummings, earlier this year.

According to new evidence in the case, Kessler admitted she “had been running from the FBI for 25 years and was wanted in several states.”

According to documents released as part of the discovery process, and show law enforcement interviewed dozens of people who knew or had contact with Kessler, WJAX reported.

Among the physical evidence listed in the court documents is a “zip-tie receipt" and the "victim's fingernail," WJAX reported.  Nassau County Sheriff Bill Leeper said Kessler used 18 different aliases in 34 cities.

Cumming’s body hasn’t been found, but investigators said they have enough evidence to charger Kessler with murder.

Kessler remains behind bars.
