Center for Auto Safety calling on Ford for major recall

The Center for Auto Safety wants Ford to recall more than a million Ford Explorers built from 2011 to 2017 over concerns of carbon monoxide leaking into vehicles.

In October, Ford said it would fix the problem for free.

But federal regulators opened an investigation.

And the center says it's possible the repairs aren't working.

"We keep hearing reports of, 'I went into the dealership, I did the fix like you asked and yet I'm still having the same problem,'" said Jason Levine with the Center for Auto Safety.

Ford says its vehicles are safe and an investigation found the monoxide levels do not exceed what people are safely exposed to every day.
