Conditions on local rivers are improving after flooding and ice jams caused problems from Pittsburgh to Westmoreland County, but the potential for problems isn't over.
There are 20 miles of ice jams on the Allegheny River.
Officials unsure when loose barges will be removed, dam will reopen
The ice is causing a lot of damage in places such as Tarentum.
Meanwhile, officials said, conditions at the Emsworth Lock and Dam have greatly improved.

Barges on the Ohio River broke away and lodged themselves at the dam.
A barge is jamming one of the dam's gates. Crews are working to remove all the barges that are stuck.
All barges have been accounted for.
The threat that the Kiski River will flood in Hyde Park is diminishing, despite warming temperatures.
Officials told Channel 11 that all ice jams are unpredictable and dangerous, and everyone should be cautious around them.
