A couple took off after being caught using drugs outside a crime watch meeting Monday night.
The police chief told only Channel 11 that he was on his way out of a crime watch meeting when he spotted two people using drugs in a church parking lot.

He said they tried to drive away with their lights off and he pulled them over moments later.

The chief said this behavior is not welcome in the town.
"There has to something more than us putting handcuffs on users,” said Duquesne Police Chief Thomas Dunlevy. "Do everything in your power to get clean. You're much more productive in society not using heroin."
Both of the people are from Shaler.
The 28-year-old woman was arrested and is now in the Allegheny County Jail. She had prior warrants out for her arrest on theft charges.
The man will be arrested via summons.
They're both facing several drug charges.
