Family remembering man shot, killed in Pittsburgh

The family of a Pittsburgh man shot in the head Friday gathered Saturday to honor his life.

Fred Shields, 34, was found unresponsive on Arlington Avenue Friday and later died at a local hospital.

On Saturday, those who knew Shields best gathered to honor his life with a vigil and a balloon release. They also had a message to the community.

"Put the guns down. Reach out your arms and love one another," said Fred Shields' aunt, Sheila Shields.

The family said they don't want Shields' death to be in vain and are pleading with the community to stop the violence.

Police currently do not have a suspect.
