FBI, investigators raid North Side home-health care business

PITTSBURGH — Investigators, led by the FBI, raided a home-health care business Wednesday in Pittsburgh’s North Side.

Channel 11’s Rick Earle reported that agents spent more than eight hours sifting through files and computers at Moriarty Consultants on Perrysville Avenue. The business provides services to the elderly and disabled.

It is unclear what was being sought, but postal inspectors and agents from the IRS, FBI and other federal and state agencies hauled boxes of records from the building and loaded them into a U-Haul truck.

Moriarty Consultants is owned by Arlinda Moriarty, who started the business in 2000. She has said that in 17 years, she turned the company into a $30 million-a-year business, with more than 700 employees in five states.
