WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Firefighters were called Monday morning to a fire at a home in Westmoreland County.
The fire was reported shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Camp Nancy Road in Washington Township.
The homeowner, James Grasinger, said the fire started in a pavilion next to his home and then spread to a spare bedroom. The pavilion was destroyed and damage could be seen on the home’s roof.
Channel 11’s Liz Kilmer is working to learn what fire officials suspect started the fire for Channel 11 News, starting at 5 p.m.

Grasinger said he was asleep at the time and a passerby alerted him to the flames.
“If it wouldn’t have been for that gentleman beating on the windows, I’d have never heard anything,” Grasinger said.
Emergency dispatchers initially said one person suffered burns, but Grasinger told Channel 11 News he was the only person home and was not hurt.
