Former high school coach pleaded guilty for sexual texts to teens

A former volunteer high school coach has pleaded guilty to sending teens sexual texts.

He once volunteered as a high school football coach with Mount Pleasant and that's how he met the two teenage boys, but Tuesday, Ty Holler plead guilty to exchanging sexual text messages with the two players.

Holler plead guilty to the lesser misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors. It was a plea deal approved by the victims and their families.

Holler will serve three years on probation and will not be allowed to serve as a coach or volunteer for any community group that works with children.

Those text messages were exchanged in 2014 and 2015 while Holler was a student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

The text messages were sexual in nature with pictures of topless women that he claimed were IUP students in an effort or get the teens to send back inappropriate pictures.

His defense team said Holler's girlfriend used his phone and was responsible for the pictures, but described it as "locker room talk" and said it illustrates the dangers of 21st century technology.

Holler also worked as a coach with the high school's baseball team.

He reportedly told the judge it was in his best interest to plead guilty to the lesser charges.
