Former judge disbarred years after stealing evidence

A former judge is now disbarred, years after he was sentenced for stealing evidence.

The former Washington County judge of common pleas found out Thursday he won't be able to practice law in Pennsylvania ever again.

Paul Pozonsky was disbarred by the state effective Thursday.

TRENDING NOW:

Pozonsky spent at least 30 days in prison for stealing cocaine from evidence he kept in his chambers instead of police custody.

He served as a judge of common pleas for 13 years, and pleaded guilty to theft in March of 2015.

His defense team said there were a lot of factors that led to his drug use, like the overwhelming criminal case load, work environment and family issues but Poznosky said he took full responsibility.

In addition to no longer practicing law, Poznosky now has no income, no medical insurance and he also lost his pension because of the case against him.
