Four people, including 2 kids, rescued from rising water in Monessen

MONESSEN, Pa. — Four people, including two kids, were rescued Wednesday night when rising waters surrounded their car in Monessen.

It happened just before midnight on Parente and Grand boulevards according to the Monessen Hilltop Volunteer Fire Department.

At approximately 23:40 both 81 companies were dispatched to Parente and Grand Blvds. For the report of a vehicle stuck in high flood waters with four occupants including two children inside the vehicle with fast moving water. Rescue 81-1 and Attack 81-2 and Squad 81-1 went enroute and the occupants were rescued from the vehicle great job by all 81 units !

In a video posted on the department’s Facebook page, it shows firefighters making their way to the car surrounded by water and helping people who were stranded.
