BROWNSVILLE, PA. — Students at the Brownsville High School will soon see extra security at the school.
The district received a $7,300 check Tuesday to purchase and install metal detectors at the high school.

The donation was presented to district officials by Maggie Hardy Magerko, president and owner of 84 Lumber and Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.
Magerko said she wanted to help after learning the district couldn’t afford to buy and install metal detectors at the school.
She hopes installing the metal detectors at the school will deter students from bringing weapons to school and prevent a tragedy similar to the shooting in Parkland, Florida.
