Hurricane Harvey: How YOU can help TODAY

WPXI-TV and its parent company are organizing donations to the hurricane-battered portions of Texas and Louisiana.

The James M. Cox Foundation, named after the founder of Cox Enterprises, will make a $100,000 grant to the American Red Cross for hurricane relief, the company announced today.

“Beginning with my grandfather and through the generations, Cox has always supported the people and places where we do business,” said Cox chairman Jim Kennedy said in a statement. “I truly believe that we are at our best when we stand together.”

You can also make a donation to the American Red Cross or Salvation Army.

In addition, Cox Enterprises is helping its 2,500 employees in the affected region through the Cox Employee Relief Fund, which was launched 12 years ago after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and surrounding areas.

CERF is providing employees with immediate emergency financial assistance to help with their short-term needs.
