Local police chief arrested for suspicion of DWI in North Carolina

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. — A local police chief is facing criminal charges out of state.

The chief of Scott Township James Secreet was arrested for suspicion of DWI in North Carolina.

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Secreet was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle in Cumberland County when he was stopped for a lane violation just after 11 p.m. Thursday.

The trooper who stopped Secreet said he showed signs of impairment due to alcohol.

Secreet was taken to the Cumberland County Jail.

Both the police department and township officials told Channel 11 they knew nothing about it.
