Man, 19, shot in North Versailles

A 19-year-old man was shot Wednesday in North Versailles.

Police blocked the road and kept even tenants out of Valley View Estates after that shooting. Investigators tell Channel 11 the victim was in a lot of pain, but was conscious and alert when he was taken to UPMC Mercy.

"She just got off work so she was sleeping," said Eva Taylor, whose daughter was upstairs in the house where the shooting happened. "She just said she heard gunshots, she was crying, called me hysterical, so that made me hysterical as well."

The woman said the victim is a friend of her daughter's.

Allegheny County homicide and crime scene investigators were in the townhouse for hours.

Channel 11 made calls to police sources and found out police have been called to that townhouse and others recently for teen marijuana parties.

Police also tell Channel 11 the gunman knew the victim.
