Man accused of trying to lure teenage girls in Butler

BUTLER, Pa. — A 65-year-old man in Butler County is accused of trying to lure two teenage girls.

Police said Edward Osche approached the girls as they walked along East Brady Street in Butler on Sunday and asked them, “Hey girls, do you want to get into the car?”

According to police paperwork, Osche told police he noticed the girls walking and told one of them she had a nice dress on, and ask them if they needed a ride. The girls, 13 and 14, called police with the vehicle’s license plate – that’s how they tracked down Osche.

“That is horrific and so scary,” said Butler resident Nina Cuffie.

When interviewed, police say Osche detailed his day, saying he specifically came to the city because it was a nice day and he wanted to look at women.

He noticed one of the girls had a short skirt on, drove around the block and approached her. Police say he asked to give the teens a ride to get a better look at their legs.

Police said, when Osche found out they were looking for him, he came right to the station and told them everything. They say Osche told them he seeks out women and offers them rides, and has been doing it for about a year.

According to police paperwork, Osche made sure to tell police that he does not accept gratuity for any of his actions.

Osche posted $100,000 bail and is out of jail while awaiting a hearing next month.
