Man beaten by two others outside Pittsburgh restaurant

EAST LIBERTY, Pa. — A young man was hurt badly when police say two men beat him, causing bleeding on his brain.

It happened outside of a McDonald’s in a busy part of East Liberty, on North Euclid Avenue.

The victim also had other head injuries.

Police say Qua Bullock and Isaiah Makhanda-Lopez were kicking and punching another man in the head when they got to the scene around 9:20 Wednesday night.

Court paperwork said the first police sergeant on scene: "...saw Makhanda-Lopez kicking the victim in the head repeatedly and that Bullock was punching and kicking the victim in the back of the head. The two males were hovering over the victim, continuing to beat him, despite the sergeant's verbal commands to stop..."

Eight other police officers arrived as backup and finally arrested Makhanda-Lopez and Bullock under threat of stunning them with Tasers.

The two 21-year-olds told police the victim wanted a cigar from them, they refused and the victim came back and wanted to fight.

The victim was taken to UPMC Presby. Channel 11 is checking on his condition.
