Police were called to the scene of a pedestrian accident in Downtown Pittsburgh Monday night.
The accident happened around 10:15 p.m. in the 900 block of Penn Avenue, according to police.
Channel 11 talked to the driver who said the victim jumped out in front of his car.
“A guy ran out in front of me and he got hit by a car and he's now in critical condition. He literally just popped out of nowhere, tried to play chicken with a car, and I hit him. They say he's in critical condition. I hope he's alright,” Stephen Trimble said.
He said he was on his way to pick up his friend.
The victim was transported to UPMC Mercy Hospital where he's listed in critical condition.
