Man jumps from moving car during police chase on Route 28

TARENTUM, Pa. — A man jumped out of a moving car early Monday morning in an attempt to elude police during a chase on Route 28 in Tarentum, police said.

The incident was reported just after 3 a.m., ending near The Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills mall.

Police said officers tried to pull over a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Irvin Green, of Penn Hills, for a red light violation in Tarentum. He refused to stop and drove onto Route 28 southbound for about three miles.

When an East Deer police officer pulled in front of Green’s vehicle, Green jumped out and ran, police said. He was arrested after a brief foot chase.
