Man wanted for violent kidnapping, rape that crossed state lines

A man is being sought for a violent kidnapping and rape that authorities say took place across state lines.

Virgil Lee Hall, 44, of Bruceton Mills, is accused of kidnapping a woman from her home in Preston County, West Virginia, and driving her to Fayette County, Pennsylvania where he allegedly choked and raped her in a cornfield in Wharton Township.

According to state police, Hall‘s car broke down while he was driving back to his home in West Virginia.
He allegedly pulled the 40-year-old victim from his car and dragged her by her hair back to his home, which was approximately 400 feet away.
The incident happened on Nov. 18.
Hall is facing charges in both West Virginia and Pennsylvania of attempted homicide, strangulation, unlawful restraint and aggravated assault.
