MCCANDLESS, Pa. — McCandless Town Council suspended police chief Dave Disanti without pay after a meeting Monday night.
The motion passed 4-3 in front of only one resident who attended the open portion of the meeting, a distinct contrast to the packed houses that marked previous meetings regarding the ongoing controversy in the police department.
Disanti was placed on unpaid leave three months ago amid allegations of misconduct toward a female police officer. He appeared before the council Monday to defend himself against the allegations.
The vote took place in a closed-door meeting.
Now the council is working to come up with a corrective action plan before deciding whether or not to bring Disanti back on the force.
