Officials have identified the motorcyclist who was killed in a crash after fleeing a traffic stop in Shaler on Friday night.

Todd Kraft, 47, of East Pittsburgh died of multiple blunt force trauma, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office.

His death was ruled accidental.
Police said a Shaler officer attempted to pull Kraft over around 6:30 p.m. on Babcock Boulevard when Kraft fled. His motorcycle reached 80 mph before he slammed into the back of a car less than 30 seconds later.
Kraft was not wearing a helmet, police said.
Officials have not said what initiated the traffic stop or why Kraft may have fled.
