Two of the robberies that occurred in New Castle were reported on Aug. 31 and Sept. 4. Police released surveillance videos Thursday.

"Thankfully, no one has been hurt yet, but obviously as time goes on the threat of violence or things escalating to something more serious, it's always there," said Lt. David Cumo of the New Castle Police Department.

In New Castle, robberies were reported at a Sunoco and a Mini Mart. A gas station was robbed in Neshannock, a bank was robbed in Mercer and another robbery happened in New Wilmington.

During the Mini Mart robbery, the man was seen in surveillance video reaching over a counter and grabbing money from a cash register. The clerk tried to cover the money and pushed him away.

Cumo said anyone encountering the man shouldn't fight back.

"Go along with what he's doing and call the police," Cumo said. "Don't try to interact with him or try to stop him."

Posting the man's photo on social media led to several tips, and police say they now have a suspect.

Anyone with information on the robberies or the identity of the man is asked to call the New Castle City Police Department's Criminal Investigative Unit at 724-656-3588. Tips can also be left through the department's website (CLICK HERE).
