PITTSBURGH — More than eight months after her son’s death, a local mother is desperate to find his killer.
Raekwon Epps was gunned down Aug. 13 on Brushton Avenue in Pittsburgh's Homewood neighborhood. He would have turned 21 next week.
“Every day for me is being in a world by myself … empty,” Lisa Epps, Raekwon’s mother, said. “I mean, I've got friends and family, but I feel empty.”
Police believe Raekwon’s murder was brought on by a rap video in which he appeared. The video is considered an insult to someone or some group.

Raekwon was shot soon after the video was posted on social media. His mother told Channel 11 News that she thinks her son was set up and robbed before his death.
CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
"I don't even really know what to ask the public for, except for a little bit of sympathy and honesty and support,” Epps said.
